Over the last decade, Michael Levin has gained international attention for his sharply-observed black and white photographs. In 2006, he was selected as International Photographer of the Year at the International Photography Awards in New York City. Levin was also the first person to be twice awarded Fine Art Photographer of the Year at the PX3 Prix de la Photographie Awards in Paris (in 2007 & 2009). Michael Levin’s photographs and continuing career have been the subject of numerous profiles in various international media including feature articles in publications in the United States, England, Germany, and China. In 2008, Dewi Lewis Publishing (UK) released ZEBRATO, a monograph of 46 duotone plates drawn from Levin’s on-going photography catalogue. ZEBRATO was printed by Editoriale Bortolazzi in Verona, Italy and distributed world-wide. PDN magazine – considered the bible for the professional photographic industry – selected ZEBRATO as a “Top Photography Book of 2009”. The book has earned many favourable reviews and juried awards.
